Possible Causes
Beans jammed in grinder burrs, Foreign object in grinder, Failed grinder motor, Loose grinder motor connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker. Keep fingers away from grinder blades/burrs.
- Empty bean hopper: Remove all beans from the hopper. Check for stones or foreign objects mixed with beans.
- Clear grinder chute: Remove the grind chute cover (if accessible) and use a small brush to clear compacted grounds.
- Manually rotate burrs: If possible, gently turn the top burr by hand to free a jam. Do not force it; if it will not move, disassemble the grinder per service instructions.
- Inspect grinder motor: Access the grinder assembly from the top or side. Check the motor wiring connector and reseat it. Look for burnt smell or discoloration indicating motor failure.
- Test without beans: Reassemble and run a grind cycle with an empty hopper. If the motor still does not run and E08 returns, replace the grinder motor or complete grinder assembly.
