Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker and allow the warming plate to cool before touching.

• Check keep-warm setting: Confirm that the keep-warm function is enabled and not set to 0 minutes on programmable Kenmore models.
• Inspect plate surface: Look for cracks or burn marks on the warming plate. Physical damage often indicates a failed element.
• Access heater wiring: Remove the bottom cover to expose the warming plate connections. Check for loose or burnt wires and secure or replace as needed.
