Possible Causes

Heavy limescale in aluminum heating block, Clogged silicone water tubing, Blocked check valve, Mineral buildup at reservoir outlet

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug and allow the unit to cool before descaling or disassembly.

  • Run multiple descaling cycles: Fill the reservoir with a 1:1 vinegar-water mix and run a brew cycle. Pause halfway to let the solution soak in the heater for 20–30 minutes, then resume. Repeat 2–3 times.
  • Flush with clean water: Run at least two full tanks of fresh water to remove vinegar and loosened scale.
  • Inspect reservoir outlet and check valve: Remove the reservoir and clean the outlet and any check valve with a brush. Ensure the valve moves freely.
  • Check internal tubing (advanced): Remove the housing and inspect silicone hoses for kinks or white scale buildup. Replace any hardened or blocked hoses and the check valve if present.
