Possible Causes
Worn or stuck drip-stop plunger, Broken spring in drip mechanism, Coffee residue buildup on valve, Damaged brew basket
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the unit to cool before removing the basket.
- Clean drip-stop: Remove the brew basket and thoroughly clean the drip-stop valve at the bottom with warm soapy water. Ensure it moves freely.
- Inspect spring and seal: Check for a missing or broken spring and for a torn rubber seal. Replace the basket or valve assembly if damaged.
- Test operation: With the carafe removed, press the drip-stop from below to confirm it seals when released.
- Replace basket: If the valve cannot be restored, replace the entire Kenmore brew basket assembly.
