Possible Causes
Faulty start button or touch panel, Control PCB input failure, Door or tank not detected, Brew group not in place (bean-to-cup models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before cleaning the control panel.
- Check safety interlocks: Ensure the water tank, drip tray, and (if applicable) brew group and service door are correctly installed and closed. Many Kenwood models will not start if any of these are missing.
- Clean control panel: Wipe the buttons or touch panel with a slightly damp, soft cloth. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the panel.
- Reset the machine: Unplug for 5–10 minutes, then plug back in and try again.
- Test other buttons: If other buttons respond but START does not, the start switch or touch sensor may be faulty and will require replacement of the control panel or PCB.
