Possible Causes
Clogged paper or permanent filter, Drip-stop valve stuck closed, Carafe not seated correctly, Too fine coffee grind
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off and unplug the coffee maker. Allow hot surfaces to cool before cleaning.
- Check carafe position: Ensure the Kenwood glass or thermal carafe is pushed fully back so it engages the drip-stop lever under the filter basket.
- Clean filter basket: Remove the filter basket and filter. Rinse thoroughly to remove old grounds and oils. Ensure the bottom outlet is clear.
- Inspect drip-stop: Press the drip-stop mechanism up and down to ensure it moves freely. Clean any coffee residue around it.
- Adjust grind and dose: Use a medium grind for filter coffee and do not overfill the filter basket beyond the MAX mark.
