Possible Causes
Coffee beans jammed in grinder, Foreign object in grinder (stone, metal), Worn grinder motor, Grinder motor overload sensor triggered
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before accessing the bean hopper or grinder area.
- Empty the bean hopper: Remove all beans from the Kenwood bean hopper. Use a vacuum cleaner with a narrow nozzle to remove loose grounds from the top of the grinder.
- Check for foreign objects: With a flashlight, look into the grinder inlet for stones, screws, or other hard objects. Do not push objects further in; gently remove anything visible with tweezers.
- Adjust grind setting coarser: If the grind is set extremely fine, the grinder can stall. Turn the grind adjustment towards a coarser setting and try again.
- Reset overload: Leave the machine unplugged for 10–15 minutes to allow any internal thermal cut-out on the grinder motor to reset. Plug back in and test with a small amount of beans.
- If E06 persists: The grinder motor or its drive gears may be damaged. Replacement of the grinder assembly is typically required and should be done by a service center.
