Possible Causes
Brew group jammed with coffee residues, Stripped drive gear on brew unit, Faulty brew group position microswitch, Failed drive motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker before removing the brew group or opening service doors.
- Remove and clean brew group: Open the service door, unlock and pull out the Kenwood brew group (on bean-to-cup models). Rinse it thoroughly under lukewarm water, moving the internal piston and filters to remove compacted coffee. Let it dry completely.
- Clean the interior: Use a soft brush or vacuum to remove loose coffee grounds from the brew chamber and drive gear area inside the machine.
- Lubricate moving parts: Apply a small amount of food-safe silicone grease to the brew group rails and moving joints as recommended by Kenwood.
- Reinstall correctly: Slide the brew group back in until it clicks. Ensure it is fully locked; an incorrectly seated group can trigger E07.
- If the error remains: The drive motor, gearbox, or position sensor (microswitch or Hall sensor) may be faulty. This requires disassembly of the internal mechanism and should be handled by a technician.
