Safety first: Ensure good ventilation when running initial cycles.
- Initial cleaning: Run 2–3 full tanks of clean water through the Kenwood coffee maker without coffee before first use.
- Optional mild vinegar rinse: Run one cycle with a mild vinegar solution (1:4 vinegar to water), then several cycles with plain water to remove any taste.
- Time: Odor should diminish after several uses. If it persists strongly, contact Kenwood support.
