Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine and allow all pressure to dissipate. Open the steam knob only after the machine has cooled.
Clean the steam circuit:
- Remove the steam wand tip and soak it in hot water with a little descaler. Use a fine needle to clear the nozzle holes.
- Run a steam cycle with water only to flush the wand.
- Descale the machine thoroughly, ensuring the descaling solution passes through both the coffee and steam circuits.
Check pressure components (advanced):
- Access the boiler and pressure relief valve by removing the top or side cover.
- Inspect the pressure relief valve for scale or blockage; replace if stuck.
- Check the pressure sensor or switch wiring to the control board.
If E6 persists, the pressure sensor or control board may be defective and should be tested and replaced by a technician.
