Possible Causes
Filter basket not inserted correctly, Swing-out filter door not closed, Internal brew group misaligned, Door switch failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before reaching into the brew area.
Check external components:
- Open the filter compartment and remove the filter basket or swing-out filter.
- Clean any coffee grounds from the basket rim and the mating surfaces on the machine.
- Reinsert the basket fully and close the filter door until it clicks. Many Klarstein drip machines have a microswitch that must be engaged.
Inspect door switch (advanced):
- With the unit unplugged, remove the front or side panel to access the filter door switch.
- Check that the actuator lever is not bent or broken.
- Test the switch with a multimeter for continuity when pressed.
If the switch is defective, replace it with a compatible door/microswitch. Do not bypass safety switches.
