Possible Causes

Carafe not seated on warming plate, Broken carafe sensor lever, Faulty carafe microswitch, Misaligned warming plate bracket

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker and allow the warming plate to cool before touching it.

User checks:

  • Ensure the glass carafe is the original Klarstein model and is placed fully back on the warming plate.
  • Check that nothing is obstructing the carafe from pressing down on the sensor lever (if visible).

Sensor inspection (advanced):

  • Remove the bottom cover to access the carafe microswitch under the warming plate.
  • Inspect the plastic actuator that the carafe presses; replace if broken or warped.
  • Test the microswitch with a multimeter; it should change state when the actuator is pressed.

Replace the carafe presence switch if it fails testing. Ensure all wiring is routed away from the hot plate.
