Possible Causes

Brew group jammed by capsule, Brew group drive motor failure, Position microswitch or sensor fault, Gear train obstruction

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the coffee maker and let it cool fully.

  • Remove capsule: Open the capsule lever/door fully and remove any capsule. Check for crushed or misaligned capsules stuck in the L’OR capsule chamber.
  • Clean capsule chamber: Use a soft brush and a damp cloth to remove coffee residues around the piercing needles and brew chamber.
  • Reset brew unit: With the machine unplugged, open and close the capsule lever several times to mechanically reset the brew group position.
  • Power cycle: Plug the machine back in, turn it on, and wait until it completes its self‑test. Then run a rinse cycle without a capsule.
  • If E04 persists: The brew unit drive motor, gears, or position sensor may be defective. Internal disassembly is complex; contact an authorized L’OR service center.
