Possible Causes
Open or shorted NTC temperature sensor, Limescale on thermoblock causing overheating, Failed thermal fuse on heater, Control board temperature circuit fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the machine. The heater and internal parts can be very hot; allow at least 30 minutes to cool.
- Descale thoroughly: Fill the L’OR water tank with descaling solution and run the full descaling program if the machine allows it. Heavy scale can cause localized overheating.
- Ventilation: Ensure the machine has adequate space around it and is not enclosed in a cabinet, which can contribute to overheating.
- Power reset: After cooling, plug in and restart the machine. If E05 clears temporarily but returns, the NTC sensor or thermal fuse is likely failing.
- Do not bypass safety devices: If the thermal fuse is open, it must be replaced with the correct rated part. This should only be done by a qualified technician.
