Machine displays ALARM 8; low water pressure or flow is detected, shots are weak or do not start properly.

Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug the machine before disconnecting any water lines. Have towels ready for spills.

Steps to resolve ALARM 8:

• Verify mains pressure: Ensure the building water supply is on and that pressure meets La Marzocco specifications (typically 2–6 bar). If pressure is low, consult a plumber.
• Check shutoff valves: Confirm that any under-counter or inline shutoff valves feeding the machine are fully open.
• Inspect and replace inlet filter: Locate the inline water filter or softener cartridge feeding the machine. If it is old or heavily restricted, replace it. Some installations also have a mesh strainer at the machine inlet; remove and clean it.
• Check inlet solenoid valve: Access the machine’s inlet solenoid. With power applied (for qualified users), start a fill or brew cycle and listen for a click. If the coil energizes but no water flows, the valve may be blocked with debris.
• Clean or replace solenoid: Isolate water, depressurize, then remove the solenoid valve. Clean the internal screen and orifice. If the coil is burned or the valve body is damaged, replace with a La Marzocco-approved inlet solenoid.
• Re-test: Restore water and power, then test flow. If ALARM 8 persists despite good pressure and a clean inlet path, contact a technician to check the flow sensor or control board.
