Possible Causes
Shorted heating element terminal, loose high-current connection arcing, failed SSR or relay overheating, foreign object contacting hot components
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately turn OFF and unplug the machine. Do not continue to operate it. If you see flames, use an appropriate fire extinguisher.
Steps:
- Allow to cool: Wait until the machine is cool before removing panels.
- Inspect visually: Look for burned wires, melted insulation, or charred components near the smell source.
- Tighten and repair: Replace any burned connectors and tighten all high-current terminals at elements, relays, and terminal blocks.
- Replace failed components: Any visibly burned SSR, relay, or wiring harness must be replaced with OEM parts.
- Do not ignore: Electrical faults can cause fire. If you are not qualified to repair, contact a La Marzocco service center.
