Possible Causes
Worn or contaminated solenoid valve seat, debris preventing full closure, damaged internal seals in group solenoid, scale buildup on valve plunger
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug the machine. Allow the group to cool.
Steps to fix dripping group:
- Backflush with detergent: Perform multiple detergent backflush cycles to flush debris from the 3-way valve. This often resolves minor leaks.
- Inspect for scale: If dripping persists, remove the group solenoid valve. Disassemble and inspect the plunger and seat for scale or debris. Clean with descaler and a soft brush.
- Check seals: Examine internal O-rings and seals. Replace if worn or damaged.
- Reassemble and test: Reinstall the solenoid, restore power, and test for leaks. If the valve still leaks, replace the entire solenoid assembly with a La Marzocco-compatible part.
