Display shows A3 and the machine will not start a brewing cycle; no pump noise is heard.

Safety first: Unplug the machine before any disassembly. Water and mains voltage are present inside; proceed only if you are experienced with electrical repairs.

Step 1 – Basic checks

• Verify the water tank is full and correctly seated.
• Check that the machine is not in descaling or programming mode; power cycle the unit by unplugging for 5 minutes.
• Try starting a hot-water cycle (if available) to confirm no pump activity.

Step 2 – Listen for pump operation

• Plug in and turn ON the machine.
• Start a brew or hot-water cycle and listen closely: a healthy vibration pump makes a distinct buzzing sound.
• If there is complete silence, suspect an electrical or control issue; if there is a faint hum but no water, the pump may be seized.

Step 3 – Inspect pump and wiring (advanced)

• Unplug the machine and remove the outer cover.
• Locate the vibration pump (typically a metal cylinder with two hose connections and two electrical terminals).
• Check the electrical connectors for secure fit, discoloration, or burning; reseat or replace damaged terminals.
• Inspect hoses for kinks or blockages.

Step 4 – Free a seized pump (advanced)

• Disconnect the inlet and outlet hoses (have towels ready).
• Try to flush warm descaling solution through the pump manually using a syringe or small hand pump.
• Reconnect hoses and test. If the pump still does not run or is extremely noisy, replacement is recommended.

Step 5 – Control board check (for professionals)

• If the pump is known good but never receives voltage during a brew command, the main control board triac/relay may be faulty.
• Board-level diagnosis and repair should be performed only by qualified technicians due to shock risk.
