Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between keypad and main board, Moisture ingress into control panel, Failed touch sensor PCB, Firmware communication fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before accessing the control panel.
Step 1 – Power cycle
- Unplug the machine for 5–10 minutes.
- Plug back in and test the buttons.
Step 2 – Dry out moisture
- If the machine was recently cleaned or exposed to steam, allow it to dry for several hours in a warm, dry room.
- Do not use a hair dryer or direct heat on the control panel.
Step 3 – Inspect keypad connections (advanced)
- Unplug and remove the top/front cover to access the control panel.
- Locate the ribbon cable or wiring harness connecting the keypad/touch panel to the main board.
- Disconnect and reconnect the cable to ensure a solid connection.
- Inspect for corrosion or damage on connectors.
Step 4 – Replace faulty UI board (for technicians)
- If only some buttons fail consistently, the keypad or touch PCB may be defective.
- Replace the user interface board with the correct Lavazza part.
When to seek service
- If A9 persists and no loose connections are found, the main control board may have a communication fault and should be serviced professionally.
