Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug the machine before removing the drip tray.

Step 1 – Empty and clean the drip tray

• Carefully pull out the drip tray to avoid spilling.
• Empty all water and rinse the tray with warm water.
• Dry thoroughly, including any float mechanism.

Step 2 – Check float and alignment

• If the tray has a float indicator, ensure it moves freely and is not stuck with coffee residue.
• Reinsert the tray fully, ensuring it sits flat and engages any internal sensor.

Step 3 – Sensor inspection (advanced)

• Unplug and remove the cover to access the drip tray sensor.
• Locate the microswitch, optical sensor, or magnetic sensor associated with the tray.
• Verify that the tray or float properly actuates the sensor.
• Clean the sensor area and replace the sensor if it fails to change state when actuated.

When to seek service

• If B3 persists with a clean, correctly seated tray, a sensor or control board fault is likely and should be serviced professionally.
