Possible Causes
Blocked water flow causing dry heating, Failed pump leading to no flow, Heavy scale in thermoblock, Faulty thermal fuse or thermostat
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine and allow it to cool completely (at least 45 minutes). Do not attempt to bypass safety devices.
Step 1 – Check water supply
- Ensure the water tank is full and correctly seated.
- Run a water-only cycle to confirm flow once the machine has cooled and E03 clears.
Step 2 – Descale
- Perform a full descaling cycle to remove scale that can cause localized overheating.
Step 3 – Inspect pump and flow (advanced)
- Unplug and remove the cover.
- Check that the pump operates and that water flows through the thermoblock.
- Inspect hoses and the flowmeter for blockages.
Step 4 – Thermal fuse/thermostat (for technicians)
- Test continuity of thermal fuses and thermostats attached to the thermoblock.
- Replace any open safety device with the exact rated part.
When to seek service
- Persistent E03 indicates a serious overheating or flow problem and should be addressed by a professional.
