Possible Causes

OPV adjusted too high, Blocked OPV return line to tank, Scale buildup in OPV, Using blind basket or too fine grind during normal shots

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug before internal adjustments.

  • Verify technique: Ensure you are not accidentally using a blind basket for normal shots and that your grind is not excessively fine.
  • Check OPV return: Confirm that the OPV discharge hose is not kinked or blocked and that water can return to the tank during a blind shot.
  • Adjust OPV: Locate the OPV on your Lelit model (often near the pump). Following Lelit’s instructions, turn the adjustment screw slightly to reduce pressure, checking with a blind basket until you reach about 9–10 bar.
  • Clean or replace OPV: If adjustment has little effect, remove and descale the OPV. Replace the OPV assembly if the internal spring or seat is damaged.
