Possible Causes
Failed vibration pump or rotary pump, Open thermal protector on pump, Loose or burnt pump wiring connector, Faulty pump triac or relay on main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing internal components. Pumps operate at mains voltage.
- Check basic water path: Ensure the tank is full and seated, and that the intake hose and tank filter are not blocked or kinked.
- Listen for pump: With the machine powered ON, start a brew cycle. If you do not hear the pump at all, suspect electrical issues. If you hear a loud hum but no water, suspect a seized pump or blockage.
- Inspect pump connections: Remove the case cover and locate the pump (Ulka vibration pump or rotary pump on some Lelit models). Check that the spade connectors are tight and not burnt. Reseat them if needed.
- Check for overheating: Some pumps have a thermal protector that opens when overheated. Allow the machine to cool for 30–60 minutes and try again.
- Advanced testing: With a multimeter and proper safety precautions, verify that the control board sends voltage to the pump when brew is activated. If voltage is present but the pump does not run, replace the pump assembly. If no voltage is present, the control board pump driver may be faulty.
