Possible Causes
Blocked ventilation around machine, Failed internal cooling fan (if equipped), Excessive ambient temperature, Control board temperature sensor fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug. Allow the machine to cool for at least 30 minutes before further use.
- Improve ventilation: Ensure there is at least several centimeters of clearance on all sides of the machine. Do not operate it inside cabinets or confined spaces.
- Clean vents: Check any side or rear ventilation slots for dust buildup. Vacuum or brush them clean.
- Check internal fan (if present): On some Lelit models, a small fan cools the electronics. Remove the cover and verify that the fan spins freely and runs when the machine heats. Replace a seized or non-running internal cooling fan.
- Ambient conditions: Avoid operating the machine in very hot rooms or direct sunlight, which can trigger overtemperature alarms.
- Persistent AL9: If the alarm recurs despite good ventilation and a working fan, the control board temperature sensor or the board itself may be faulty and should be checked by a technician.
