Possible Causes
Failed heating element in brew or steam boiler, Tripped safety thermostat on boiler, Loose heater wiring, Faulty heater triac/relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF, unplug, and allow the machine to cool. Heating circuits are at mains voltage.
- Check warm-up time: Allow at least 20–30 minutes. If the boiler temperature does not rise at all, continue.
- Inspect thermostats: Remove the cover and locate the thermostats or thermal cutouts on each boiler. Press any manual reset buttons. If they click, they had tripped.
- Check wiring: Verify that the heater terminals on the boiler are firmly connected and not burnt.
- Measure element resistance (advanced): Disconnect the heater leads and measure resistance across the element. An open circuit indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
- Control board: If the element is good but never receives power, the heater triac/relay on the control board may be defective and should be replaced by a technician.
