Possible Causes
Loose boiler fittings, Degraded PTFE or fiber gaskets, Cracked boiler outlet fitting, Overpressure stressing joints
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF, unplug, and allow full cooling and depressurization. Never tighten fittings on a hot, pressurized boiler.
- Identify leaking fitting: Remove the cover and look for mineral tracks or moisture around boiler outlets, level probe, safety valve, or pressurestat connections.
- Tighten gently: Use an appropriate wrench to snug the leaking fitting slightly. Do not overtighten brass fittings.
- Replace gasket: If tightening does not stop the leak, disassemble the joint and replace the PTFE or fiber gasket or sealing washer.
- Check pressure control: Ensure boiler pressure is within spec; overpressure can worsen leaks.
