Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely before opening any covers.
- Power reset: Leave the machine unplugged for at least 10 minutes, then plug back in and try again. Sometimes a transient fault can trigger ERR2.
- Check for obvious overheating: Smell for burnt odours around the top or rear vents. If you notice melting or burning, do not use the machine again until inspected by a technician.
- Inspect external wiring (if accessible): On some Magimix models you can remove the water tank and drip tray to see part of the internal wiring. Look for pinched or broken wires near the boiler/thermoblock area. Do not tug on wires.
- Do not bypass sensors: Never attempt to bridge or bypass the temperature sensor; this can cause dangerous overheating.
Because ERR2 usually indicates a failed NTC sensor or control board, full repair requires opening the casing and testing with a multimeter. This is best done by a qualified technician.
