Possible Causes
Blocked flow meter due to limescale, Flow meter turbine stuck, Flow meter electrical failure, Wiring harness fault between flow meter and PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off and unplug the machine before any work. Let it cool fully.
- Check water supply: Ensure the water tank is full and correctly seated. Try a different water source if your tap water is very hard.
- Run a rinse cycle: If the machine allows, start a rinse or hot water cycle to see if any water flows. If there is no flow, the flow meter or pump may be blocked.
- Descale the machine: Fill the tank with a Magimix-approved descaling solution or a citric-acid-based descaler. Run a full descaling program according to the user manual. Limescale in the flow meter is a common cause of ERR3.
- Check for kinks in hoses (if visible): Remove the water tank and drip tray and look for any visible silicone hoses that may be pinched or kinked.
If ERR3 persists after thorough descaling, the flow meter or its wiring is likely defective and should be replaced by a service technician.
