Possible Causes

Brew group jammed by capsule, Brew group drive motor failure, Position sensor or microswitch fault, Gear train obstruction or broken gear

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the machine before inserting hands into the capsule area.

  • Remove stuck capsule: Open the capsule lever fully. Check for a crushed or misaligned capsule in the brewing chamber. Remove any capsule fragments or foil pieces.
  • Clean the capsule area: Use a soft brush and a damp cloth to remove coffee grounds around the brew head and capsule slide. Do not use sharp tools that could damage seals.
  • Manually reset the brew group (if accessible): On some Magimix capsule machines, you can gently move the brew carriage back to its home position by hand once the machine is unplugged. Do not force it; if it is solidly stuck, stop.
  • Power reset: Plug the machine back in, close the lever, and turn it on. Allow it to run its self-test. If ERR6 clears, run a rinse cycle before brewing again.

If the error persists, the brew group motor, gears, or position sensor may be defective and require professional service.
