Possible Causes

Drip tray full of water, Capsule container full, Drip tray sensor stuck or dirty, Misaligned drip tray

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Switch off the machine before removing the drip tray to avoid spills on live parts.

  • Empty and clean: Remove the drip tray and used capsule container. Empty both and wash with warm soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  • Check the float: Some trays have a red float that rises when full. Make sure it moves freely and is not jammed by coffee residue.
  • Clean the sensor area: Wipe the area where the tray slides in, especially any optical or mechanical sensor points, with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Reinsert correctly: Slide the tray back in fully until it clicks into place. A partially inserted tray can keep the TRAY icon lit.

If the warning remains, the tray sensor or microswitch may be faulty and require service.
