Possible Causes

Blocked steam nozzle, Limescale in steam circuit, Steam thermostat failure, Steam valve not opening fully

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Steam is very hot and can cause burns. Always point the wand into a jug before opening the valve.

  • Purge the wand: With the machine heated, open the steam valve for a few seconds into an empty jug to clear condensation.
  • Clean the nozzle: Turn off and unplug the machine, allow it to cool, then unscrew the steam tip (if removable). Soak it in hot water with a little descaler and clear any milk residue with a soft brush.
  • Descale the machine: Run a full descaling cycle, ensuring the steam function is used during the process to descale the steam path.

If there is still no steam but the machine heats and brews normally, the steam thermostat, valve, or thermoblock may be faulty and should be serviced.
