Possible Causes
Worn or flattened brew head gasket, Coffee residue on sealing surfaces, Lever not fully closed, Cracked brew head housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Hot water and steam can cause burns. Do not place hands near the leak while brewing.
- Ensure lever is fully closed: Close the lever firmly until it locks. Do not force beyond its normal stop.
- Clean sealing surfaces: Unplug and allow to cool, then wipe the brew head gasket and mating surfaces with a damp cloth to remove coffee oils and grounds.
- Inspect gasket: Check the rubber gasket for cracks, flattening, or deformation. If damaged, it should be replaced.
Replacing the brew head gasket is usually straightforward and can often be done by the user following the manual. If the housing is cracked, the entire brew head assembly may need replacement.
