Melitta
Weak Coffee / Under-Extraction
Coffee is very weak or watery even on the strongest setting.

Possible Causes
Grinder set too coarse, Worn grinder burrs, Low coffee dose setting, Bypass valve leaking during extraction
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before adjusting internal components.
User adjustments:
- Adjust grinder: While the grinder is running, turn the grind selector towards a finer setting (per Melitta instructions).
- Increase strength: Use the strength or aroma button to select a higher coffee dose.
- Use fresh beans: Use freshly roasted, medium-dark beans. Very old beans produce weak coffee.
Advanced:
- If coffee remains weak, the grinder burrs may be worn and require replacement.
- A leaking bypass valve in the brew circuit can also reduce extraction and may need service.
