Display shows F12 and the machine cannot detect the drip tray or waste container correctly.

Safety first: Unplug the machine before reaching into the drip tray area.

Steps:

• Remove and clean: Take out the drip tray and coffee grounds container. Wash them thoroughly and dry completely.
• Clean sensor area: Wipe the sensor window or microswitch area inside the machine with a soft, dry cloth to remove coffee residue and moisture.
• Reinsert correctly: Slide the tray and container back in until they click into place. Ensure no foreign objects prevent full insertion.

If F12 remains, the tray sensor (microswitch or optical) may be defective and should be replaced.
