Possible Causes

Empty bean hopper, Beans stuck above grinder inlet, Broken grinder drive coupling, Grinder chute blocked with coffee oils

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the machine before reaching into the bean hopper.

Steps:

  • Check beans: Ensure the hopper is filled and that beans can freely fall into the grinder opening.
  • Stir beans: Gently stir beans with a dry spoon to break any bridge formation.
  • Clean chute: If accessible, remove the upper burr and clean the chute from grinder to brew group with a brush.

If the grinder motor runs but the burrs do not turn, the drive coupling or gears may be broken and the grinder assembly should be replaced.
