How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before working on the brew unit or drive mechanism.

User-level steps:

Remove the brew unit according to the user manual (usually via the front service door).
Rinse the brew unit thoroughly under warm water, moving the piston and levers gently to free any stuck coffee residues. Allow to dry and lightly lubricate moving parts with food-safe silicone grease where specified by Miele.
Reinsert the brew unit fully until it clicks into place.

Technical inspection:

With the brew unit removed, inspect the brew drive gear train inside the machine for broken teeth or coffee buildup.
Manually rotate the drive gear (if accessible) to check for binding.
Check the brew drive motor wiring and connectors.
Test the brew position sensor or microswitches for proper operation with a multimeter.

Resolution:

If the brew unit is physically damaged or excessively worn, replace the complete brew unit.
If the motor does not run and has incorrect resistance, replace the brew drive motor assembly.
Replace any broken gears or faulty position sensors as needed.
