How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the machine immediately. Do not rely on the switch to disconnect power.
- Verify symptom: Confirm that the indicator light and heating continue even when the switch is in the OFF position (while plugged in).
- Inspect wiring: Remove the base cover and check that the switch is correctly wired in series with the live supply. Correct any miswiring.
- Test switch: Use a multimeter to check continuity across the switch terminals in both ON and OFF positions. If continuity remains in OFF, replace the switch.
- Replace switch: Install a new Moccamaster-compatible on/off rocker switch and reassemble the unit.
