Moccamaster
Restricted Water Path from Limescale
Very slow brewing; full pot takes much longer than usual

Possible Causes
Heavy limescale in heating block, Partially clogged riser tube, Mineral deposits in outlet arm, Partially blocked one-way valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Allow the unit to cool and unplug before handling.
- Perform intensive descaling: Use a dedicated coffee machine descaler or a 1:1 white vinegar and water solution. Fill the reservoir to max. Start a brew cycle and pause halfway for 20–30 minutes, then resume. Repeat once if scale is heavy.
- Clean outlet arm: Remove the outlet arm and soak it in warm descaling solution for 15–20 minutes. Use a fine brush or needle to clear each hole.
- Flush with clean water: Run at least 2–3 full reservoirs of fresh water to remove any remaining descaler and loosened debris.
- Inspect internal tubing (if still slow): Remove the top cover to access the riser tube and silicone hoses. Detach and flush them under running water. Replace any tube that is hardened or heavily scaled.
