Water leaks from around the brew basket area

Safety: Turn off and unplug the coffee maker. Allow hot water and steam to dissipate before handling the brew basket.

• Check filter and grind: Ensure you are using the correct size filter and not overfilling with coffee. Avoid very fine espresso grinds that restrict flow.
• Inspect brew basket: Remove the brew basket and check for cracks or warping. Verify that the drip-stop valve moves freely and is not stuck closed by coffee residue.
• Clean drip-stop valve: Rinse the basket thoroughly. Use a small brush to clean around the valve mechanism. Soak in warm soapy water if residue is heavy.
• Check alignment: Reinstall the brew basket, ensuring it is fully seated and correctly aligned with the outlet arm and carafe lid (if using an automatic drip-stop system).
• Replace damaged parts: If the basket or its gasket is cracked or deformed, replace the brew basket assembly or gasket.
