Possible Causes

Airlock in heating tube, Limescale restricting flow, Low water level in tank, Loose silicone hose vibrating

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: No need to open the unit for basic checks; unplug if noises sound abnormal or burning is detected.

  • Fill tank fully: Ensure the water tank is filled to the maximum line. Low water can cause excessive steam and noise.
  • Descale: Run a full descaling cycle to remove scale that can cause steam pockets and popping sounds in the aluminium heating tube.
  • Bleed air: After descaling, run 2–3 full tanks of plain water through the machine to flush air and debris.
  • Internal check (advanced): Remove the base and ensure silicone hoses are firmly attached and not rattling against the housing. Secure with additional clips if necessary.

Some gurgling is normal at the end of a brew, but persistent loud banging may indicate a severe blockage requiring professional service.
