Possible Causes
Overheating of thermal cut-out, Loose mains connection, Failing power switch, Faulty auto shut-off circuit on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and allow the unit to cool before inspection.
- Ventilation: Ensure the coffee maker has adequate space around it and is not enclosed in a tight cabinet. Overheating can trigger thermal cut-outs.
- Check power cord and plug: Wiggle the plug gently in the socket (with power off) to check for looseness. Replace any damaged plug or cord.
- Clean internal dust (advanced): Remove the base cover and gently blow out dust from the PCB and around the heater. Dust can trap heat.
- Inspect thermal cut-out: Locate the thermal cut-out on the hot plate or heater. If it is loose or not firmly attached, refit it so it senses temperature correctly.
If the problem persists, the thermal cut-out or control PCB may be faulty and require replacement.
