Display shows CLEAN or a flashing clean icon and the coffee tastes weak or the brew cycle is slow.

Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker and let it cool before cleaning.

• Clean filter basket: Remove the permanent filter or paper filter holder. Wash the basket and holder in warm soapy water, scrubbing away coffee oils and residue.
• Clean shower head: On Morphy Richards filter machines, remove the plastic spray head above the filter basket (if removable) and clean the small holes with a brush or toothpick.
• Check drip stop valve: Press the spring-loaded drip stop in the filter holder. It should move freely. Rinse under running water to clear any grounds.
• Run cleaning cycle: Some models have a dedicated CLEAN cycle. Fill the tank with water and a coffee machine cleaner, run the cycle, then rinse with fresh water.

After cleaning, reset the CLEAN indicator according to the user manual. If flow remains poor, internal tubing or the heating block may be scaled and require descaling.
