Possible Causes

Grinder burrs jammed with oily beans, Foreign object in grinder, Grinder motor failure, Grinder motor driver fault on PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker before accessing the bean hopper or grinder.

  • Empty hopper: Remove all beans from the hopper. Check for stones or foreign objects that may have fallen in.
  • Clean grinder chute: Use a small brush to clean the grinder chute and burr area. Do not use water directly on the grinder.
  • Adjust grind setting: If set to the finest grind, move one or two steps coarser and try again. Very fine settings with oily beans can overload the grinder.
  • Manual rotation (advanced): With the unit unplugged, remove the top burr (if accessible) and gently rotate the lower burr or motor shaft by hand to free any jam. Reassemble carefully.

If E6 persists, the grinder motor or its driver circuit on the control PCB may be damaged and should be replaced by a technician.
