Possible Causes
Filter basket overfilled with coffee, Clogged paper or permanent filter, Drip stop valve stuck closed, Misaligned filter holder
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and allow the machine to cool before cleaning up hot water or coffee.
- Reduce coffee quantity: Ensure you are not exceeding the recommended number of scoops for the selected cup size on your Morphy Richards model.
- Check filter type: Use the correct size paper filter or the supplied permanent filter. Incorrect filters can collapse and block flow.
- Clean drip stop valve: Remove the filter holder and press the drip stop valve repeatedly under running water to clear any grounds. It should move freely and spring back.
- Seat filter holder correctly: Reinstall the filter holder so it sits flat and locks into place. An unseated holder can cause leaks around the rim.
If overflow continues with correct loading and a clean filter, the drip stop assembly may be damaged and should be replaced.
