Possible Causes
No cup on drip tray, Misaligned drip tray magnet, Faulty reed switch or micro-switch under drip tray, Debris preventing tray from seating fully
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the brewer before inspecting the drip tray area.
- Verify cup placement:
- Place a sturdy cup directly on the drip tray in the center.
- Clean and reseat drip tray:
- Remove the drip tray and wash it with warm soapy water.
- Inspect for a small magnet or tab on the tray; ensure it is intact.
- Clean the area under the tray and reinstall firmly.
- Test sensor:
- With the unit plugged in, gently press down on the tray area and see if the message clears.
If the CUP message remains with a properly seated tray and cup, the internal reed switch or micro-switch may be defective and require replacement.
