How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit before handling internal components.

  • Replace the water filter:
    • Remove the water reservoir or filter holder, depending on model.
    • Take out the used charcoal filter cartridge.
    • Soak a new Mr. Coffee-compatible charcoal filter in cold water for 10 minutes, then rinse.
    • Install the new filter into the holder and reinstall in the reservoir.
  • Reset the filter indicator:
    • Press and hold the FILTER or CLEAN button (model-dependent) for several seconds until the message clears.

Do not operate the unit with a severely clogged filter; it can strain the pump and heater.
