Possible Causes
Broken capsule holder, Worn or bent piercing needle, Misaligned locking handle, Obstruction in capsule chamber
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the machine before removing the capsule holder.
- Inspect capsule holder: Remove the holder and check the bottom piercing plate and top piercing needle. They should be sharp and unobstructed.
- Clean piercing components: Rinse the holder under warm water and use a soft brush to remove coffee residues. Do not use metal tools that could deform the piercers.
- Check handle closure: Insert an empty capsule and close the locking handle. It should close firmly with some resistance. If it does not fully lock, the capsule may not be pierced.
- Try another capsule: Occasionally, defective capsules have overly stiff membranes. Test with a new capsule from a different batch.
If the capsule holder is cracked or the piercing elements are visibly damaged, replace the holder. If the handle mechanism does not pull the head down fully, the hinge or latch assembly may need professional repair.
