Machine powers on but pump does not run; no water flow when brewing is started

Safety first: Unplug the machine before any inspection. Water and mains voltage are both present inside.

External checks:

• Verify the water tank is full, correctly seated, and that the tank outlet valve opens when pressed.
• Check for kinks or pinched water hoses visible from the tank to the machine inlet.
• Run a rinse or cleaning cycle and listen closely: if you hear no vibration from the pump, the pump is likely not powered or has failed.

Internal checks:

• Remove the housing to access the ULKA vibration pump.
• Inspect the pump wiring harness and connectors for burning, corrosion, or loose fit; reseat firmly.
• With the machine unplugged, measure the pump coil resistance; an open circuit indicates a failed pump.
• Check the small inlet filter or mesh at the pump inlet for debris; clean with water and a soft brush.
• If the pump tests good, the issue may be the pump driver (triac or relay) on the main control board; inspect for burned spots or cracked solder joints.

Note: Replacing the pump is usually straightforward (disconnect hoses and wiring, swap pump, ensure clamps are tight). Control board repair requires electronics skills; if unsure, replace the board or consult a technician.
