Milk frother (integrated Aeroccino or milk carafe) does not operate; milk icon blinks or error displayed

Safety first: Unplug the machine and allow the milk frother components to cool before handling.

External checks:

• Ensure the milk carafe or Aeroccino is correctly seated on its base and that the contacts are clean and dry.
• Clean the electrical contacts on both the machine and the carafe with a dry cloth; do not use water directly on contacts.
• Verify that the whisk is correctly installed and not jammed.

Internal checks (for integrated frothers):

• Open the housing to access the frother induction base or heater module.
• Inspect wiring from the main board to the frother base for damage or loose connectors.
• Measure resistance of the frother heater coil; an open circuit indicates a failed heater.
• For motorized frothers, check the small DC motor for free rotation and continuity.

If the heater or motor is defective, replace the frother base or carafe assembly as a unit. Control board faults that affect only the frother circuit may require PCB replacement.
