How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before cleaning the sensor area.
Cleaning and capsule checks:
- Open the head and remove any capsule.
- Clean the barcode reader window around the capsule ring area with a soft, slightly damp cloth; dry thoroughly.
- Inspect the capsule for damage or dirt on the barcode ring; try a new, genuine Nespresso Vertuo capsule.
Sensor inspection:
- If the error persists, open the housing and locate the barcode sensor module.
- Check for loose connectors or damaged wiring; reseat as needed.
- If the sensor is physically damaged or fails to detect any capsule, replace the barcode reader assembly.
